TCS joins CABA and participates on the oBIX standards committee
TCS recently joined the CABA organization. CABA (Continental Automated Buildings Association) is
North America's only industry association dedicated to providing information, education and networking opportunities relating to home and building automation.TCS joins the ranks of other industry leaders in the endorsement and dissemination of industry related research and information. In conjunction with TCS’ membership in CABA they will also be participating on the oBIX (Open Building Information Xchange) standards committee. OBIX is the proposed standard for an XML based interoperability protocol. Numerous groups within the industry are active in its involvement and are committed to its success. Ben Shipley, the Director of Emerging Markets at TCS proclaimed,
“Successful adaptation of an XML standard would truly bring convergence in our industry with other industries and provide a common communications platform that would bring an open standard. I’m enthusiastic about the opportunity this presents. If oBIX becomes a standard - contractors, technicians, and other customers would have a protocol that would let them manipulate and integrate building control and information into almost any business application.”TCS is actively endorsing and developing products that will operate with the proposed standard and is committed to ongoing support.
